SCAD student Carolina Lopez created this really cool combination of photography and textile arts. She found the photos in Savannah antique stores and then embroidered them with subtle colors that standout on top of the desaturated images. Sometimes the design disregards the subject of the photograph, but in one, waves of thread emanate from two circles, which I think are balls of some kind. On another one, she creates soft mountains on top of a photograph of low beach dunes.
